It was a good thing Keiko managed to meet up, pinball-style, with a ton of friendly "illegals" in her LA adventures kind-hearted, romantic people who were willing to give her work and pay her off the books. We've seen it go both ways so far, so the end result for all of our heroes will most likely be a mixture of possibilities. Dyson Frost's VHS tape from '91 brought up the idea that Dyson was "narrowing outcomes" from his multiple flash visions, therefore we're being told that not everyone's fate is set. It makes you look at their shared vision again and wonder if the two of them were so happy because they both led each other to their respective soul-mates. I enjoyed the Bryce and Keiko storyline and was really intrigued about the fact that the two of them might actually wind up with, or be destined to be with, different people that they find while looking for each other. Keiko always smiles before she delivers the death blow. attack? You can't just have forward momentum on a show – you need to be able to preserve what we've already seen and experienced. What about the couple of heart-to-hearts she's had with Demetri in the past few episodes? What about all the times that we saw her, away from the Bureau, acting genuine? She was behind that D.C. What about Janis' trip with Simon to Canada? She was really one of the people behind his sister's kidnapping? Baloney. One of my biggest TV pet peeves is when a shocking twist comes along that totally erases and destroys the meaning and sentiment behind scenes you've already seen and emotionally invested in. It didn't matter that we really didn't know that much about Marci, she freakin' shot up the entire office! I mentioned that I would hold off my grumpy grumblings about Janis' swerve until I see how it all plays out, but at first glance it looks like it's going to negate a lot of previous story. We didn't need the extra twist of Janis turning dark and devious. Blam! Talk about going out in a "blaze of glory." The action piece at the end of the episode was definitely a great scene, and it was enough to make the mole hunt worth our time.
But let's give it up for Marci, huh? Hello, CIA handler.
